Our “off season” pitching program started two weeks ago but our playoffs start tomorrow! Thoughts? Tough to keep up and compete at the highest level if you don’t participate in these programs but is it too much? Coaches and former players stress the importance of rest and playing multiple sports but is that really feasible anymore?

Not sure how or when it started but it is completely out of control.  Off season pitching programs start before playoffs end for some leagues.

Could not agree more – fear kids will burn out but it is easy to get caught up in the rat race.  If you don’t train year-round you might fall behind.  Everyone talks about the importance of playing multiple sports but that is becoming tougher and tougher to do – especially if you are playing for elite travel teams in more than 1 sport.
